The rollerless belt conveyor (also known as a slider bed conveyor or KLB) is a specialized transport solution engineered for conditions where the use of traditional roller conveyors is impractical or impossible.

Its unique design ensures stable operation over distances of up to 50 meters and at an incline of up to 45°, while its sealed casing made from a bent profile is ideal for handling dusty products.

When Should You Choose a Rollerless Belt Conveyor?

This type of conveyor is the best choice in the following situations:

• Hard-to-Reach Places: If the conveyor is installed in a confined space where servicing or replacing rollers is extremely difficult.
• Handling Lightweight Loads: It is perfectly suited for products with a low specific gravity.
• Specific Industries: Widely used for sorting municipal solid waste, in the food industry (can be fitted with a food-grade belt), and for transporting grain.

The belt in these conveyors moves at a low speed (typically up to 1 m/s), which ensures gentle handling of the product.

Operating Principle and Unique Cleaning System

The main difference of a slider bed conveyor is the absence of intermediate rollers. The belt slides directly on a smooth, solid bed, which is made from sheet steel with a thickness of 2 mm or more. To increase wear resistance, the bed can be additionally lined with polyurethane.

The design includes an effective self-cleaning system:

1. If product gets under the belt, it moves along with it towards the drive pulley.
2. Near the pulley, the product is discharged onto the non-working (return) surface of the belt.
3. Special cleaning devices then scrape the product residue from the belt into a separate collection bin.
